The C-level executives in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avanade.com\/~\/media\/documents\/hybrid-cloud-global-study.pdf\">Avanade\u2019s global Hybrid Cloud study<\/a>are particularly optimistic: 75 percent believe it should be the main area of focus for their company this year; 72 percent expect to adopt hybrid cloud by 2018; and 76 percent expect the majority of their applications and services \u2013 including some critical systems like data and analytics, office applications and customer-facing services \u2013 will be running in a hybrid cloud environment within three years.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft\u2019s Mike Neil \u2013 a corporate vice president in the Enterprise Cloud Group \u2013 gives similar figures, saying two-thirds of their enterprise customers are looking at hybrid cloud. He quotes a Garner report where three-quarters of enterprises \u201csee hybrid cloud as delivering business value they want\u201d \u2013 a number he says has shifted very rapidly. \u201cWe rarely get customers saying \u2018I only want to be in the public cloud\u2019 or \u2018I only want to be on premise\u2019,\u201d he explains. \u201cThe idea of using some services on premise and some from the cloud and some from the cloud is becoming the dominant customer viewpoint.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"jumpTag\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cio.com\/article\/2976078\/hybrid-cloud\/how-secure-is-the-hybrid-cloud.html#jump\">To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here<\/a><\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hybrid cloud is IT\u2019s flavor of the year.
